Five outstanding educators are in the running to be named the Gaston County Teacher of the Year for 2026-2027.
Thank you for registering your child for kindergarten for the 2026-27 school year. We invite you to sign up for a mini-camp session where your child can meet other rising kindergarten students.
During the session, kindergarten teachers will spend time getting to know each child and assessing readiness for the classroom.

The Board of Education approved the 2026-27 school calendar. The calendar was adopted during the board meeting on December 15, 2025, and revised March 16, 2026, to change the optional teacher workday from June 1, 2027, to August 4, 2026. SUN Bucks is a program from the U.S. Department of Agriculture that helps families buy groceries during the summer months when school is out. Eligible families will receive a one-time payment of $120 per child on a debit-like card. The card can be used to purchase nutritious food during the summer months when schools are out.
